Basic Emotions

In Tunisian Arabic, there are many ways to express emotions. Here are some basic emotions and how to express them in Tunisian Arabic:

Let's put some of these emotions in context with a dialogue:

• Person 1: مَالِي خِرْڨَاتْ. (mali khirgaat.) - (I'm angry.)
• Person 2: شَنْوَة جَمِّعَكْ؟ (shnoua jamm3ak?) - (What's bothering you?)
• Person 1: تَاجَ نِمْخَانِق. (taj nimkhanik.) - (I feel annoyed.)
• Person 2: خَلّي بَالَكِ، تَاجَ نِذَايِجْ شَوْيَة. (kalli balak, taj nidhayij shwaya.) - (Take it easy, feeling a little frustrated is normal.)

Advanced Emotions

In addition to basic emotions, there are more advanced emotions that are specific to Tunisian Arabic. Here are a few examples:

Expressing Intensity

To express the intensity of an emotion, you can add an adjective in Tunisian Arabic. Here are some examples:
