Fruit has been an essential part of Lithuanian cuisine for centuries. It is used in a variety of dishes and snacks. For example, one of the traditional Lithuanian dishes is a cold beet soup called "šaltibarščiai," which is often served with boiled eggs and small potatoes. The soup is also served with fresh cucumbers, radishes, and natural sour cream alongside slices of fresh apples. Fruits are also commonly used in Lithuanian cakes and desserts such as Lithuanian Apple Cake (Obuolių Pyragas) and Cranberry Tart (Spanguolių pyragas).

Lithuania is known for its high-quality fruits, especially apples. The country's climate is favorable for growing apples. Lithuania's apple production has been on the rise and it has become one of the largest apple producing countries in Europe. Lithuania produces a variety of apple species, including the famous Zubrini, Champion, and Golden Delicious. The city of Jonava, in central Lithuania, is widely known as the "apple capital" of the country.
