Slovak Grammar - Give your Opinion

Hi Slovak learners! 😊
In this lesson, we will learn how to give your opinion in Slovak. We will look at the grammar rules and some examples. We will also do a quiz at the end of the lesson. Let's get started!

Rules

Giving your opinion in Slovak is quite simple. To express your opinion, you can use the following phrases:

  • Myslím si, že... - I think that...
  • Som presvedčený, že... - I am convinced that...
  • Verím, že... - I believe that...
  • Som presvedčený, že... - I am convinced that...
  • Moj názor je, že... - My opinion is that...

To make your opinion stronger, you can add adverbs such as:

  • Určite - Definitely
  • Rozhodne - Certainly
  • Vysoke - Highly
  • Veľmi - Very

For example:

  • Myslím si, že je to veľmi dôležité. - I think it is very important.
  • Rozhodne verím, že je to správne. - Certainly, I believe it is right.

Examples

Slovak Pronunciation English Translation
Myslím si, že je to veľmi dôležité. mɪsliːm siː ʒe je to vɛlmi dɔleʒiːtɛ I think it is very important.
Som presvedčený, že je to správne. som prɛsveːtʃɛniː ʒe je to spraːvnɛ I am convinced that it is right.
Verím, že je to najlepšie riešenie. vɛriːm ʒe je to najlɛpʃiː riɛʃɛniːɛ I believe that it is the best solution.
Moj názor je, že je to veľmi zlé. moj naːzor je ʒe je to vɛlmi zleː My opinion is that it is very bad.
