Conjunctions in Tajik

Note that "ва" is a conjunction used to add, while "valе" is used to contrast.

  • Ман туҷҳӯ мехӯрам, ва ҳамсари ман ба ман мерасонанд. (Man tujhū mexūram, va hamsari man bā man merāsonand.) - I am an orphan, and my spouse inherited from me.
  • Мо ҷигардонем, вале худ дил шикаста мешавад. (Mo jigardunem, vale khud dil shikasta meshavad.) - We love each other, but it breaks our hearts.
  • Ман дар зери пешниҳоди аз занон беаҳмал шудам, ле́кин ҳоло танҳо игрон мурғ мешавам. (Man dar zeri peshnihodi az zanon beahmal shudam, lekin holo tanho igrun murgh meshavam.) - I volunteered for women's rights, but now I am only a lonely rooster.
  • Гулҳо мизонанд ва қанотҳо лоиқ сурат андозанд. (Gulho mizonand va kanotho loiq surat andozand.) - Flowers smell good and bees have a beautiful appearance.
  • Ман не кудакдорам, чун имрӯз бехастам ба муассиса. (Man ne kudakdoram, chun imruzh behastam bā muassisā.) - I am not a child anymore, whether today I went to the office.
